I suggest you...continue to fund the arts, 1% of the arts on some level. In the diminishing era of less news coverage, public access and community journalism becomes increasingly more important to tell the stories of what is happening in people's lives. Fund vehicles that help to tell these stories and help to share the news to those for whom English is not the primary language. The Seattle Channel should focus more human interest stories on the impact of budget cuts on people's lives and what are they doing in the aftermath of past cuts and predicted new cuts. I am interested in having the Seattle Channel share more about local government, the upcoming budget hearings and the thinking behind how the City chooses to respond to lower revenue projections.
