Most exurbs don't have "on street" parking on major roads. It's assumed that commercial areas will have paid or free parking lots. Why is it that Seattle has to take away roadway (paid for by the state) and give it over at reduced rates to selective people? Get rid of on street parking, use the lanes for traffic, and make people pay fair rates at commercial parking lots. It would also save a lot of traffic enforcement, meters and other expensive gizmos.
