Keep city vehicles longer, delay replacement

Delay new fleet purchases. Keep ALL vehicles until their warranties expire and beyond.

Limit the use of city vehicles by city employees. Explore cost savings by negotiating private-sector contracts for repairs and maintenance.

    i fully agree with this. i am being laid off under the budget proposal. my section got 3 new vehicles last year...we did not ASK for them, we did not NEED them, and we did not WANT them, but we were given them because some bean counter looked at a sheet of paper and said, "you're due for 3 new vehicles".

    the cost of those 3 vehicles would have covered my salary for more than 2 YEARS. so why am i losing my job again??
