Keep funding for Alki Community Center

Please do not reduce funds for programs at Alki Community Center (ACC). Many Alki parents rely on services at the community center and Alki Elementary has enjoyed a long relationship with ACC, sharing a gym, playground and playfield. Reducing funding and putting our community center at risk will harm the Alki community. Let us find other ways to keep the ACC up and running by having all community meetings. Keep the Conservatory open

Keep the Volunteer Park Conservatory open. It is a magnet for visitors, it is a wonderful place for students, and it is far more valuable than a special place in the City Admin campus for employee bike riders to shower!

Necessity NOT luxury.

Keep libraries and community centers open, because these are public NECESSITIES, not luxuries-for all individuals and families. Golf courses, stadium lights, waterfalls, etc are NOT needed. THEY are luxuries.

STOP Community Center Closings

Consider how your proposed community center closings threaten your OWN stated goals of keeping Seattle livable for the workforce and the middle class. Your targets ARE community centers in middle class neighborhoods. Green Lake, Queen Anne, Laurelhurst, neighborhoods with many young families trying to remain in the city, pay taxes and derive support for their children, for their mental and physical health- these community ...more »
