Greenlake Community Center

The reduction in hours for the tot playroom will have a huge impact. I went yesterday morning (the first weekday since the rainy weather began), and it was PACKED with toddlers. I suggest you add some Saturday hours as there are very few low cost options to keep active toddlers busy indoors on rainy weekends.

Keeping the Alki Community Center

Please keep the commuity center. It is a safe place for so many Alki Children. Many families would be lot without it.

Maybe classes could cost a bit more to help keep the staff on.

STOP Community Center Closings

Consider how your proposed community center closings threaten your OWN stated goals of keeping Seattle livable for the workforce and the middle class. Your targets ARE community centers in middle class neighborhoods. Green Lake, Queen Anne, Laurelhurst, neighborhoods with many young families trying to remain in the city, pay taxes and derive support for their children, for their mental and physical health- these community ...more »

Necessity NOT luxury.

Keep libraries and community centers open, because these are public NECESSITIES, not luxuries-for all individuals and families. Golf courses, stadium lights, waterfalls, etc are NOT needed. THEY are luxuries.

Keep ALL Community Centers Open

Please do not cut staff from the community centers that provide vital services to our city. What other department interfaces more with the public to connect city government to everyday citizens' voices and needs? Even if it is more furlough days, even if it is pay freezes, even if it is cutting other benefits, keep the staff and resources of these centers available. A city that wants to pride itself on civic engagement ...more »

Campus Grounds

We should cut from Campus Grounds Budget Control Level in the Seattle Center budget, with an 11 million dollar plus budget cut all overtime and reduce some maintenance.

Keep QACC available for families

Queen Anne may be a wealthier neighborhood in Seattle, but it is also a place where lower middle-class people like me (renter) chose to raise our families. Community Center are a vital part of a healthy neighborhood, where kids have a place to stay in shape, and stay safe until parents come home. PLEASE DON'T CLOSE QACC!

DO NOT CUT FUNDING TO ALKI CC

I suggest you DO NOT shut down or cut funding for Alki Community Center. It's huge support and resource in our community and would be a terrible detriment to our mixed socioeconomic neighborhood and adjacent school!

Alki Community Center proposed closure

I suggest that closing the Alki Community Center is not the right approach to fixing budget problems. The community center is used by families to keep kids safe, bring community together, and supplement the Alki Elementary School programs (for example, the shared gym). Go to skating night on a Friday and see children getting active, parents skating with kids, and the whole community meeting up, to see what I mean. ...more »

Keep funding for Alki Community Center

Please do not reduce funds for programs at Alki Community Center (ACC). Many Alki parents rely on services at the community center and Alki Elementary has enjoyed a long relationship with ACC, sharing a gym, playground and playfield. Reducing funding and putting our community center at risk will harm the Alki community. Let us find other ways to keep the ACC up and running by having all community meetings. The ACC provides ...more »
