Hire forensic accountants to catch people who are not paying their taxes.
I suggest you look into sale-leaseback options on buildings such as Key Tower and downtown city campus as a way to fund the current defecit gap. Cap rates are down, values up for credit tenant buildings (don't know how city rates). Other longer term related options could be bringing in/reviewing private concessions/3rd party providers to service city facilities such as parks, pools, and community centers.
I suggest you take pay cuts, charge corporations that aren't paying anything...esp, out of state corps who have busnesses in Seattle their rightful fees.
This public input venue off the web is a great idea. Upgrade it to prevent repeated inputs by the same person, then use it more.
Money saving ideas will undoubtedly pay for the upgrade.

I suggest you...could set a regulation whereby unfair landlords/owners are switching apts. into condos with an unfair rent/ownership pricing that should be fairly based upon square footage. Remodeled apartments are less square footage than condos and city could set violations to make renters/new owners rescued!
I suggest that you find creative ways to save the money you need to keep every current City of Seattle person employed. No cuts, no closing of Neighborhood Sevice Centers, no renting out of the QA Community Center gym. Keep the valuable programs and people in Parks and DON! I suggest you cut spending related to professional sports teams. The teams should pay the cost of operating stadiums, etc. These are certainly not a priority when compared to schools or essential services.
I suggest that you look at the Dept. of Neighborhoods budget carefully and see that they propose to cut service to the puiblic while keeping in place three (!) directors/deputy directors. Three may not sound like too many until you realize that the departmwent will have less than 75-80 employees.
