The proposed budget cuts one of two Landmark Preservation Board Coordinators. Loss of this position significantly delays legally required landmark nominations and design reviews. This hurts property owners' ability to make investments that create jobs and support small businesses. Please restore this position and help Seattle weather this economic storm.
I would suggest going more to energy conservation. Replace outdated fluorescent, incandescent, high pressure sodium, mercury vapor, and metal halide lights on roadways, signage, and in buildings with LED lamps. For roadway and sidewalk lighting, there are LED light poles with integrated solar panels and helical wind turbines. I would also suggest wind and solar power for city buildings.
