I think you should increase the number of furlough days in the Library system to 2 weeks instead of the 1 week you took the past two years. Instead of having the days in one consecutive block however, you should spread it out so each branch is shut down for a total of 14 days throughout the year, but the days are spread out, and if a branch is closed, the next closest branch will still be open and available to patrons. ...more »
Help solve library budget crisis by charging a small fee when each time an individual places a "hold" on library materials. It's extra work for our library system and an added convenience for the public. Well worth it!
Right now if there is a long waiting list for a popular book or titles missing from the collection by a poplular author, the library can't accept my nearly new copy that I want to donate. There are some good reasons for this, but many of those issues are an easy fix. Allow us to help
Charge library patrons .50 to hold items. This will pay for the cost of City transportation to haul books and other materials placed on hold, from one library branch to another. Many libraries do this across the country.
Turn the library's parking lots into pay lots at night and on Sundays' when they're closed.
